Aspects of Modern Irish Radical History
History is the study of all kinds of activity in the past. Stone Age man recorded history by drawing pictures on the walls of caves. With the development of the written word over the past four thousand years history has been recorded in manuscripts and books. Throughout that time there has been a continual struggle between Conservatives who wanted things to remain more or less as they were and Radicals who wanted social change. History Online will be looking at the recent past through an Irish lens and will focus on a radical interpretation of history.
Technological development has facilitated the recording of history in a variety of modern formats. Photographs along with audio and video tapes are examples of this. The internet allows us to present history in a variety of ways.
